ADHD coaching is practical, forward-focused support for people who want to better understand how ADHD affects their everyday life and develop strategies that actually work for them.
At Lawson ADHD Solutions, coaching focuses on what is happening in your life right now, what is getting in the way, and what you want to achieve. Together, we develop realistic strategies for areas such as time management, organisation, motivation, routines, overwhelm, work, study and relationships.
ADHD coaching is not therapy, tutoring or ADHD diagnosis. It is practical support designed to help you move from knowing what you should do to actually being able to do it.
Yes. Lawson ADHD Solutions provides face-to-face ADHD coaching in Sutherland and online coaching for clients across Sydney.
Coaching sessions at Lawson ADHD Solutions are offered at $85 for a 55-minute face-to-face session. Additionally, online coaching is available via Zoom for $65 per session.
No. Our ADHD coaching services cover the systems around executive function challenges — how to start, stay consistent, manage your time, and reduce the panic. We focus on goal setting, prioritising effectively, and improving your day-to-day performance. We don't go through a textbook, and we don't give you structured homework. We do not provide a diagnosis, treat any illnesses, or give medical advice. We work on how you work and create strategies aimed at identifying and navigating the challenges associated with ADHD.
Most systems aren't designed for ADHD brains; they cater to those who rely solely on motivation and willpower. Our coaching services take a different approach. We create strategies that align with how your brain truly functions, rather than how you wish it did. Additionally, we adapt these strategies over time to address executive function challenges as life evolves.
Most clients begin with weekly or fortnightly sessions in our coaching services. As improvement is seen, these sessions typically transition to monthly or quarterly intervals. The pace is always tailored to what's working for you, especially when addressing executive function challenges.
Yes. Procrastination and difficulty getting started are common reasons people seek ADHD coaching.
Rather than simply telling you to be more disciplined or organised, ADHD coaching looks at what is making a task difficult to start or complete. This might involve task overwhelm, unclear priorities, difficulty estimating time, low interest, perfectionism, competing demands or difficulty transitioning between activities.
Coaching can help you identify the barriers and develop practical ways to make starting and following through easier.
Not necessarily. The suitability of coaching depends on your individual circumstances and what you are hoping to achieve.
ADHD coaching is not an ADHD diagnostic service, and an ADHD coach does not diagnose ADHD. If you are unsure whether you have ADHD or would like a formal diagnosis, you should speak with an appropriately qualified medical or mental health professional.
If you already have an ADHD diagnosis, coaching can provide practical support with understanding and managing how ADHD affects your everyday life.
At Lawson ADHD Solutions, I provide ADHD coaching for students in Sydney, NSW, from Year 7 through to high school, including HSC students, as well as university and TAFE students. As an experienced high school teacher, I understand the challenges students with ADHD can experience with organisation, time management, study skills, focus and executive functioning. I work with students from a wide range of backgrounds and provide practical, personalised ADHD coaching to help students build confidence, develop effective strategies and manage their studies more independently.
I also write articles on ADHD and executive function challenges. You can find these on our ADHD Resource Hub. If you have something more specific in mind, feel free to reach out through our contact us page, and I will get back to you on the same day!
Yes. Lawson ADHD Solutions offers ADHD coaching both in person and online.
The service is based in Sutherland in Sydney's Sutherland Shire, with online sessions available by arrangement. This means coaching can be accessible to people who are unable to attend in person or who prefer the flexibility of online support.
Online resources are incredibly helpful, especially those related to coaching services for parents dealing with executive function challenges. Anything by Mark Brandtman is gold. Dr. Ari Tuckman is excellent as well. Dr. Russell Barkley is another invaluable resource, and I have also found Vivian Dunstan helpful for new parents navigating ADHD.
